Reform or Relapse?

Its a funny thing,

According to brillig.com, as of December 24th, 2009, the current national deficit has reached just over 12 trillion dollars. To be exact, $12,101,548,687,450.94. That being said, one would assume now is the time to consider putting away the visa and thinking abou how to save what we already don't have left and try to recover.

Right?

In a sweeping 60-39 supermajority in the Senate last night, the nationalized universal healthcare reform bill was passed, resulting in the first Congressional voting session that will take place on Christmas Eve in over a century. What's the rush? This bill has been crammed down our throats since day one of the Obama administration and skewered in truth by 90% of all media outlets. The answer is simple; nothing is free. The sooner the bill is passed, the sooner we can start paying for it.

The bill's effects will not begin until 2013; we'll come back to that. However, a tax increase, along with other outrageous measures, will begin this upcoming year to start paying for it. It shouldn't be too terribly difficult to come up with $1.6 trillion in three years.

Now, what is so important about the year 2013? Ironically, it the very year after our esteemed president's current term in office ends. Coincidence? Why would you wait to put in place a bill that directly contradicts promises made during your campaign, and also violates the constitution, until after you had already attempted to run for or already secured reelection? The egotistical paradigm behind the current administration smacks of lunacy. Then again, most of the members of Obama's administration more than likely haven't even read the piece in question.

Here are just some of the facts I have been able to piece together, having examined other summaries, and also reading all 1,017 pages of one of the first provisions myself twice:

-All non-U.S. citizens, illegal or not, will be granted healthcare coverage
-The government will have real time and unlimited access to private individual electronic bank accounts
(why?)
-All persons not having conformed to the new healthcare reform bill will be fined an amount up to $750 per year until doing so
-The government will mandate translation services for non-English speaking persons (this will include illegal aliens)
-Groups like ACORN will be used to register people for the healthcare plan
-No contest may be posed against the government's costs, prices, fees, etc., and no question may be made about the government monopoly (correct, we are not ALLOWED to sue)
-All employers MUST enroll ALL employees in the plan
-These words are in the bill: "The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as a tax."
-All doctors will receive equal pay
-The government consults and mandates provisions made to living wills in sync with its legislature on end-of-life treatment, and rationing of end-of-life treatment (in short, a guided agenda laid out by selected doctors on government payroll that lays out the conditions of your death)

Not to understate anything said up until this point, but another interesting fact comes to mind as well; it is unconstitutional for the government to force its people to buy anything. Now wait, you might say things like: "If that's the case, then why do I have to buy car insurance to drive my vehicle?" No one has forced you to buy a car with which to drive, it is a considered a luxury that you MUST HAVE THE FINANCES for in order to possess, unlike this bill. No one has the money to pay for this ridiculous legislature, so as always, taxes will be raised. Rumors are even circulating that works are in progress to "seal" the bill, meaning that future chambers will be barred from changing, reversing, or removing the implications. Is the constitution null and void?

Back to the deficit; supporters of the bill, senators, Obama himself, etc. claim that the provisions will decrease the deficit by almost $130 billion dollars over the course of ten years. TEN YEARS. The bill itself costs nearly eight times that amount, and the deficit is already in the tens of TRILLIONS. Don't allow the zeroes to confuse you. I promise you that the negatives far exceed the positives.

So what happens next? Nothing. We may not see what really happened last night until 2013. What happens then?

-Taxes will once again skyrocket
-The term illegal alien will become non-existent
-Medical students will lose their incentives to become doctors
-When this happens, the number of doctors available to the public will decrease
-The number of people seeking medical care will drastically increase (obviously, its free)
-When both of these factors combine, demand will eclipse supply, leading to more economic failure
-Ten years from now, the deficit will still be greater than it was before the succession of the bill
-More than likely, hypocrites and fools alike will still be blaming Bush when the true mastermind is sitting in the oval office at this very moment
-The definition of democracy will be adjusted in order to maintain the facade

Little can be done at this point, but for humanity's sake, I hope future generations will look for change they fully understand, because the change so many people once "believed in" will cripple this nation for decades to come.
